Welcome to the Timothy Project! This project is part of my First Name Study method, whereby I trace the genealogy of men with the first name Timothy whose lineage leads back to South West Wales!

I invented the First Name Study method in 2021 when trying to break a brick wall on my 7x great grandparents. I found that, due to historical Welsh naming practices, many Timothys with roots in the region are actually related. Armed with that knowledge, I started researching Timothys and was able to break that brick wall and many more.

This blog is a space to read through their biographies, which have an emphasis on how each one of them ties into the social and historical context of Wales and the UK at that time.
